About me
I am a licensed Lactation Consultant with a private practice in Los Angeles, CA.
It is my privilege to work with Mothers and families who are interested in creating a nursing plan or seeking counseling for issues related to breastfeeding, nursing and all other lactation concerns.
With an individualized approach, I focus treatment on cultivating communication skills, self-awareness, and self-compassion. The emphasis of this approach is forming a holistic treatment plan that can address the physical, spiritual and emotional aspects of nursing mothers and their families.
I am an established practitioner of traditional childbirth techniques specializing in home births. I received my undergraduate in Psychology and Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University.
In 2010 I trained as birth doula, and in 2013 my training led me to work with Ina May Gaskin, regarded as "the mother of authentic midwifery,” and a founding member of The Farm Midwifery Center, where I also attended. That year I extended my education at the Nizhoni Midwifery School, and in 2017, expanded my practice to include Lactation Consulting and Programming. I received my IBCLC from University of San Diego in 2022.
As a native Angeleno, who is especially attuned to the incredible cultural landscape that exists in the Southland, I bring my unique combination of life experience, clinical judgment and spiritual awareness to my work as a Lactation Consultant. It is my impassioned belief that every life experience should be developed with a compassionate approach to a healthy mind and body.

As a licensed lactation consultant, I provide specialized care to address the physical and emotional needs unique to every client.

Step 01 / Lactation 101
The first step to my approach begins with a phone call. Here we discuss the fundamentals of breastfeeding and reflect on where you are today, and where you want your lactation plan to be.
-
Step 02 / Customize a Plan
This can be another call or we can schedule a home visit. We shift our focus to others in your world: how will that effect your lactation plan and your ideal outcome.
-
Step 03 / Track Progress
At this stage with we reflect on how the process is how unfolding for you and your baby and look to adjust as needed.
My approach
Integration, Compassion and Comprehension are the pillars of my approach
What works for one Mom, may not work for another, and putting together the puzzle of an individual’s narrative is the most rewarding challenge of this vocation.
I find it important to take into consideration as many possible aspects that inform a client’s daily life in order to create a holistic approach to breastfeeding: family dynamics, cultural standards, and personal ideologies, etc. are all things I take into account when creating a personalized plan.
Personal experience also greatly informs my practice: my lactation journey was extremely challenging and although we were ultimately successful, the process of seeking advice and guidance during that difficult time further confirmed my commitment to the field.
My background in clinical psychology and formal training as a doula coalesce to help provide a foundational understanding of the essentials required for Mother and child, both intellectually, physically and spiritually.
Facilitated in one meeting or multiple sessions, and depending on how specialized or immersive a client would like our approach to be, the initial focus is identifying what is unique to each mother’s lactation journey and what supporting infrastructure is needed in this process.
My expertise and experience combine to become a supportive and indispensable resource through this life experience. This will begin with a phone consultation to provide an overview on the basics of lactation and breastfeeding. I encourage partners and extended family members that will take an active roll as caretakers, the proverbial “village,” to participate as well. We will also have the opportunity to discuss a lactation plan to best support your particular needs.
Breastfeeding is as complex as it is beautiful, but that doesn’t mean it has to be complicated. Demystifying the process through informed dialogue and coordinating a sustainable approach provides peace of mind that is invaluable during the postpartum journey.
